Payloads
The Gavia AUV Base Vehicle is a minimum configuration AUV platform and consists of nose, battery, control, and propulsion modules. Other expansion modules and sensors can be added to this base platform in order to provide additional capability to the Base Vehicle for a variety of missions and applications.
Modules are interconnected by hand using the built-in QuickLock system that snaps the modules together mechanically and electrically. All modules are splash proof, facilitating on-deck replacement. Some sensors are mounted internally and are not field swappable.

Additional Payloads
| Sonar Training Module | Enables standard Gavia vehicle to be utilized in ASW training applications as a target |
| Custom Payloads | User defined custom payloads. A payload package consist of the Gavia Interface kit, Module controller firmware with serial to Ethernet port forwarding and Serial Payload Operator software with configurable serial interfaces that allows serial payload devices to be controlled from within the Gavia User Interface, and a custom module shell which can be flooded if desired in the form of a nosecone payload or as a standard internally mounted payload module.
A typical 400mm payload module has roughly 295 mm usable space with a usable inside diameter of 178mm. |
